THE DEX PRINCIPLES
Dex’s mission is to empower people to do meaningful work. We help individuals shape careers they love, and companies find exceptional talent. Because great work is the foundation of a great life.
These principles guide how we operate, both individually and as a team. They help us make decisions quickly and consistently as we grow.
They are not fixed rules, but a compass. They will evolve, but always help us navigate trade-offs and create the best experience for our users and environment for us.
We operate in a highly competitive space, where the speed of our decision-making and delivery is critical. In recruitment, TKD: Time, Kills, Deals.
We move fast by correctly identifying what the user value is and building a true Minimum Viable Product. You should be embarrassed by how basic the first version is.
By moving quickly, we will hit roadblocks, often, when we do, we communicate, we collaborate, and we find a solution.
We do
Focus on the minimum viable product to create user value.
We communicate obstacles and blockers; quickly, clearly and efficiently.
We invest time to make ourselves more efficient (tools / trainings / learnings).
We don't
Get bogged down in options - decide or escalate.
Try to make it perfect the first time.
Overcomplicate things.
Everyone at Dex is an owner. We thrive on responsibility, ownership, and accountability. We see things through to the end. There is Nothing that “isn’t my job”. We prioritise: Mission > Team > Self.
We play for the biggest possible win. We take wins in our stride and failures on the chin. We expect to get things wrong; that is part of the process.
We expect a lot of each other, and are always willing to help.
We do
Set scary goals and achieve them
Celebrate great outcomes
Have a blameless culture of learning
Hold each other to the highest standards
We don't
Shirk our responsibilities
Assume someone else will fix it
Let each other struggle
Our users are a broad group of individuals with varying needs, skills, and interests. We build technology that meets people where they are and enables them.
We design our processes, tools and products to be simple, intuitive and empowering. We support users to get value from what we do, through empathy and clear communication.
We do
Build tools & processes that anyone can use
Empower people through technology
Go out of our way to challenge assumptions with data
We don't
Forget about the individual
Building a startup is insanely hard. There will be high highs and low lows. Everyone at Dex knows what they are signing up for.
We are optimistic, curious and kind. We support each other, we assume good intent, and we know that no matter what, we will overcome it.
We choose to do difficult things because
We do
Show courage when things are hard
Are quick to support each other
Assume good intent
Enjoy the journey
We don't
Compain without a proposal
Attribute to malice what can be explained by a lack of comms or context
